Haven ("Haven," "we," "us," or "our") is a simple wellness app. This page explains, in plain English, what information may be collected when you use Haven (the "Service") and how it's used. If you choose to use the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Not medical advice: Haven is a self-help/wellness tool and isn't a substitute for professional care or emergency services.

Information We Collect

1) Information you choose to add

  • Account basics (optional): name, email, and a password (stored securely/hashed) if you create an account or sign in.
  • App content: entries you create in the app (e.g., moods, notes/journal, checklists, progress).
  • Attachments (optional): photos or files you choose to add.

If you don't create an account, your content is generally stored on your device. If you sign in or enable backup/sync, some data will be stored on our secure servers to provide those features.

2) Information collected automatically

  • Device & app info: device model, OS version, app version, language, and basic settings.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports, performance data, and simple usage metrics (e.g., screens opened) to help us keep things working smoothly.

What we don't collect

  • We don't collect your precise location.
  • We don't record audio through your microphone.
  • We don't read your contacts or texts.
  • We don't use advertising networks or cross-app tracking.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide the Service: save your entries, keep you signed in, and deliver core features you choose to use.
  • Improve reliability: fix bugs, understand what's confusing, and make Haven more helpful.
  • Support you: respond to your requests and troubleshoot issues.
  • Keep things secure: prevent abuse and maintain the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising.

Optional Analytics

Haven may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand general usage (e.g., how often a feature is opened) so we can make better design decisions. This data is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

You can usually turn this off in Settings → Privacy → Analytics (if available in your build).

Third-Party Service Providers

We may work with trusted vendors to host data, send support emails, process crash reports, or perform similar tasks. These providers can access information only to perform services for us and must protect it.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Haven itself doesn't rely on browser cookies. If you visit our website or help pages, those sites may use cookies to run properly. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

Storage, Security & Retention

  • Storage: Your data is stored on your device and, if you sign in/enable sync, on secure servers.
  • Security: We use reasonable safeguards for the type of data we handle (e.g., encryption in transit and at rest for personal/sensitive content).
  • Retention: We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law. If you delete your account (see below), we begin removal of your personal data from our systems; backups clear on their normal cycle.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% perfect, but we aim for practical, industry-standard protections.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Access & Export: You can view your entries in-app. If an export feature is provided, you can download a copy of your data in a readable format.
  • Edit: You can edit or delete your entries in-app.
  • Delete Account & Data: You can request deletion in the app at Settings → Account → Delete Account & Data. If you can't access the app, contact us at [email protected]. We'll handle deletion as soon as reasonably possible and within any timelines required by local law.
  • Analytics Opt-Out: If available in your build, toggle off analytics in Settings → Privacy.
  • Notifications: Control reminders in your device's notification settings or in the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as to correct, delete, or access personal data). We're happy to help—just contact us.

Children's Privacy

Haven is intended for users 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

If Haven or our help pages link to other websites, those sites are operated by others. Please review their privacy policies. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the "Last Updated" date above. In case of important changes, we may provide an in-app notice.
